Chiropractic / Chiropractors Bahamas

Chiropractic is a type of alternative medicine that has been rising in popularity during recent years.

The health professional that practices chiropractic is called a chiropractor.

Chiropractic deals with disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. It also deals with the effects of these disorders on the rest of the body.

These are the common conditions treated by chiropractic:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Pain in the joints
  • Muscle pain
  • Muscle discomfort
  • Loss of sensation in the muscle
  • Headaches
Chiropractic typically uses manipulation of the area. It is not uncommon for chiropractic to be supplemented by procedures from both alternative medicine, such as massage, meditation, and acupuncture, as well as from traditional medicine, such as antibiotics, x-rays, and dietary supplements. Chiropractors also recommend healthy lifestyle practices, such as exercise and good eating, in order to deal with the issues at hand.

The most common treatment in chiropractic is spinal manipulation. Spinal manipulation is the manual movement of a specific spinal joint (vertebra) that goes beyond its normal range of movement, but still within a safe range so that there is no risk of dislocation or damage of the joint.
