Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery

Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic and reconstructive surgery is a group of closely related surgical procedures that focus on modifying different parts of the body with the objective of improving aesthetics. It is commonly done due to personal choice, typically in cases where the patient wants to improve their attractiveness. However, in some cases, it is done to correct damage caused by trauma or congenital conditions.

The most common cosmetic and reconstructive surgery procedures offered in the Bahamas are:

Breast Augmentation/Breast Implants

Breast augmentation (enlargement) is usually achieved by inserting implants made of silicone or saline inside the breasts.

Liposuction is the surgical removal of fat tissue from one or more parts of the body. Fat is typically removed from the abdomen, the neck, the arms, the thighs, and the buttocks.

Eye Surgery/Blepharoplasty

Eye surgery is the removal and/or arrangement of skin and tissue around the eyes to eliminate eye bags or wrinkles.

Nose Job/Rhinoplasty

A nose job is the removal and/or arrangement of skin, cartilage, and other tissue to make the nose more aesthetically pleasing.

Tummy Tuck

Tummy tuck is the removal or rearrangement of excess skin in the abdominal area caused by age, pregnancy or weight loss.
